South and East

Region

 

The largest region in Caledonia, it is roughly split in two by the Central Highlands. The lands to the north and the west of the central highlands are generally moorland and peat bog, with the lands to the south and the east being heavily cultivated.

Settlements

Barothness

On the east coast, at the mouth of the River Spea, stands the city of Barothness, a large and ancient city, where many of the buildings sparkle in the sunlight due to the granite from which they are made. It also acts as a major port between Caledonia and the nations of Norsca and Teutonia.

Medium City

 

Lecht

An agricultural town in central Caledonia, acting as a collection and distribution point for the food grown in the area. It is a relatively new town with moderate defences.

Blodwyn's Spring

A spring of incredibly pure water south of the Monadhliath Mountains near Loch Broom, rumoured to have many magical properties.

Ben Turathan

Situated in the central highlands between Loch Tay, Loch Torridon, and Loch Mree, Ben Turathan is the highest peak in Caledonia. Like much of Caledonia it is rumoured to be riddled with caves and underground vaults.

2. Blodwyn's Spring Circle

Location: Near the Blodwyn's Spring, North Eastern tip of Loch Broom in Central/Eastern Caledonia

Lay of the Land: To the North lies the Monadhliath Mountains. The area immediately around the circle and to the South is wooded with paths leading off in may directions.

Description: A natural bowl in the ground, surrounded by lush vegetation. The Guardhouse is located some hundred yards away.

11. Circle on the Spey

Location: Near Barothness, Eastern Caledonia

Lay of the Land: The land is fairly flat in a wide river valley, with the river to the South.

Description: Close to the first bridge across the River Spey, the circle of stones has a short corridor of small stones leading off to the North. No Guardhouse.

14. Loch Aber Circle

Location: Loch Aber, Eastern Caledonia

Lay of the Land: The land is lightly wooded and fairly flat, but hilly on the other side of the loch.

Description: 6 foot tall standing stones form a rough circle. Located near the South Western shore of the loch on open ground. The wooden Guardhouse is nearby.
