Kataness

Region

The most north easterly of all the regions, Kataness is a blesk, barren and windswept area, covered for the most part by deep peat bogs, including those of Cnoc an Laith Bhaid moor.

Settlements

Thorsa

At the mouth of the River Thorsa lies the city of the same name. Like the port of Skarsferry to the west, it is heavily defended against naval assault, but has little in the way of land based defence. It acts as a major trading route between Caledonia and the isles of Orkneyjar.

Small City

Ham

The most easterly of the north coast cities, Ham is mainly a fishing port

Large Town

Vik

A small but heavily fortified town on the bleak northeastern coast of Caledonia

Sites of Interest

Plains of Torment (500AF - 950AF)

Not a single battlefield as such, but more a collection of sites, which litter Kataness. There have been many bloody conflicts with the Picts over the centuries, and this plain haunted by tortured souls is their legacy.
