An Mhaorine Fortiu

Region

A small fertile region around Pitlochry and the Great Divide, this agricultural region provides much of the food for the nation

Settlements

Pitlochry

Pitlochry is the current capital of Caledonia, although during the recent Formorian invasion of 1099-1100 it fell to the invaders. As of August 1100 the Formorian have retreated from the city, leaving it in need of a major rebuild.

It is very much a city that "just happened", growing without real thought or planning. A wall that had, like the rest of the city, seen many changes and modifications over the years surrounds it. This wall was greatly weakened by a strange yellow mist prior to the Formorian attacks.

Pitlochry can't really be described concisely, it just is. It is surrounded by fair agricultural land, which provides for most of the city itself.

A well-known Inn in the outer city "The Royal Haggis" was badly damaged in the Formorian attacks.

Circles

1. The Great Circle

Location: Seven leagues to the North East of Pitlochry.

Lay of the Land: To the North lies Rannoch Moor, open hilly countryside with occasional copses of trees. To the South the land is fairly flat and open.

Description: Surprisingly run-of-the-mill standing stones in a circle, considering its immense power. Located nearby are a Mages Guild Guardhouse and a Bears Guardhouse. The road SouthWest to Pitlochry is well built and well-travelled.
