The great Shrine is a place held in reverence to the Celtic ancestors. There are several possible reasons for the reverence in which this place is held. Some say it is the place where Anu first walked the earth; some say it is the site where Anu left the earth. Others believe it is the place where the Tuatha De Dannan ) The folk of God whose mother is Danu) first "came to the world".

Lay of the Land: The area around is in a small river valley, used for able farming.

Description: Small ring of standing stones, located near a small river, there are copses nearby and well-tended fields. No Guardhouse.
